Cowboy Baked Beans Recipe

Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

6 slices bacon, chopped

1 small onion, diced

2 cans (15 oz each) pork and beans, undrained

1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed

1 can (15 oz) pinto beans, drained and rinsed

3/4 cup barbecue sauce

1/4 cup ketchup

1/4 cup brown sugar

1 tablespoon yellow mustard

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

In a large skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove and set aside. In the same skillet, add ground beef and onion. Cook until the beef is browned and the onion is soft. Drain excess fat.

Add the cooked bacon, pork and beans, kidney beans, pinto beans, barbecue sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce to the skillet. Stir everything together until well combined.

Season with salt and pepper as needed.

Transfer the mixture to a 9×13-inch baking dish and bake at 350°F for 30–40 minutes, until bubbly and slightly caramelized on top.

Let it rest for a few minutes before serving.

These beans pair perfectly with grilled meats, cornbread, or just a big spoon.
