Spaghetti acts as the perfect base, catching the garlic butter sauce and blending beautifully with both proteins. A splash of pasta water helps emulsify the sauce, giving it a glossy, restaurant-style finish. This dish is ideal for date nights, special dinners, or when you want to impress without spending hours in the kitchen. You can keep it classic or customize it with chili flakes for heat, Parmesan for richness, or fresh herbs for brightness.

12 oz spaghetti
1 lb steak (ribeye, sirloin, or strip), sliced
1/2 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
4 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons olive oil
5 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Salt to taste
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
1/4 cup reserved pasta water
Fresh parsley, chopped
Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions
Cook spaghetti in salted boiling water until al dente. Reserve 1/4 cup pasta water, then drain. Season steak with salt, pepper, and paprika. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and sear steak slices for 2–3 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside. In the same skillet, add butter and garlic, cooking until fragrant. Add shrimp, season lightly, and cook 1–2 minutes per side until pink. Return steak to the pan, add cooked spaghetti and reserved pasta water, and toss until coated in garlic butter sauce. Finish with parsley, red pepper flakes if using, and Parmesan before serving.
