What is German Chocolate Cake?
Despite its name, German chocolate cake is not from Germany. Traditionally, it is a light-colored cake with a mild chocolate flavor, covered entirely in coconut pecan frosting. Our family’s version takes it up a notch with a rich chocolate cake, layered with chocolate frosting on the sides and coconut pecan frosting in the center and on top. This cake is perfect for chocolate lovers!
