Spicy Sausage Ramen Bowl Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 packs instant ramen noodles
  • 1 smoked sausage or andouille sausage, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 1/2 red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 jalapeño, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon chili flakes
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili crisp or chili oil
  • 2 eggs
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley or green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the ramen noodles according to package directions, but discard most of the seasoning packet if you want less sodium. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add sliced sausage and cook until browned and slightly crispy on both sides.
  4. Add onions, bell peppers, jalapeños, and garlic. Sauté until softened and lightly caramelized.
  5. Stir in chili flakes, soy sauce, sesame oil, and chili crisp.
  6. Add the cooked noodles to the skillet and toss everything together until evenly coated.
  7. In a separate pan, fry the eggs until the whites are set but the yolks remain runny.
  8. Divide noodles into bowls and top with fried eggs.
  9. Garnish with parsley, green onions, and extra chili flakes if desired.

Tips

  • Use spicy sausage for even more flavor.
  • Add shredded cheese for a creamy twist.
  • A soft-boiled egg also works beautifully.
  • For extra richness, stir a little butter into the noodles before serving.
  • Add bok choy, mushrooms, or corn for more texture and color.
