8 oz cream cheese, softened

1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 cup crushed or diced tomatoes, drained

1 clove garlic, minced

1 tablespoon olive oil

¼ teaspoon black pepper

¼ cup fresh basil, chopped (plus more for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). In a bowl, mix cream cheese, 1 cup of the mozzarella, Parmesan, garlic, olive oil, salt, and pepper until smooth. Spread mixture evenly into a small baking dish. Spoon crushed or diced tomatoes over the top, then sprinkle with remaining mozzarella. Bake 20–25 minutes, until hot and bubbly with lightly golden edges. Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle with fresh basil. Serve warm with toasted bread, crostini, or breadsticks.
