This recipe for homemade pineapple ice cream is so easy to make. Just blend and serve. Make it for a party, your kids or even hide it for yourself. My Dole Whip recipe, or pineapple whip, is not only a delicious Summer treat, it requires just 2 ingredients, it’s a dairy-free frozen dessert and it’s suitable for vegans. Simply pulse your frozen pineapple and coconut milk in a food processor or blender. You will have to stop a few times to move around the pineapple. When the mix is blended, enjoy it straight away! So now you don’t have to trek to Disneyland to enjoy your favorite frozen treat. Just whip up some of your own! In the spirit of full disclosure, I must admit that this is a recipe that I did not recreate, as it is based on the famous Dole Whip, which I have never actually gotten to try. If you’re not familiar with Dole Whip, it’s a dairy-free pineapple sorbet, with the consistency of soft-serve ice cream. It’s amazingly delicious! It’s also pretty difficult to come by, unless you’re visiting Disneyland or the Dole Plantation in Hawaii. (Though, I hear they are going to be offering it at Six Flags, and a few other locations soon!)
During our recent road trip, I finally got to try so famous Disney dole whip. It tasted OK, nothing “wow”. However, was very satisfying in 115 degrees F heat.
I was determined to come home and come up with my own version that tastes better. So I have embarked on what ended up a very long research trail…
Pineapple Whip is a delicious frozen treat that is actually healthy and super easy to make. Some say it tastes just like at Disneyland, only this is clean eating, paleo friendly and includes a vegan option.
